Apple has announced the next generation iPhone, the iPhone 4S. It is the same on the outside but a new beast on the inside, continue reading for the lowdown.

Specs

It features the A5 chip which is also in the iPad, up to 2x faster, dual-core graphics which can be up to 7x faster. The 4S will offer eight hours of 3G talk time. Six hours of browsing, nine hours on WiFi. 10 hours of video, and 40 hours of music. Theoretical download speeds are now twice as fast, 14.4Mbps vs. 7.2 on the iPhone. The new iPhone will also be able to intelligently switch between two antennas to transmit and receieve making phone calls even better and will be both GSM and CDMA, not separate.

Camera

New features include an 8 mega-pixel camera capable of shooting 3264 x 2448 images, thats 60% more pixels. More pixels isn’t necessarily better, but it’s a backside illuminated CMOS, so that means 73 percent more light. The new camera also has a  IR filter which means more accurate colours. The new lens is also a five element lengs, 30% more sharpness and f/2.4 aperture.

Video recording is now at 1080p and will offer image stablisation with temporal noise reduction and facial recognition.

AirPlay

AirPlay mirroring is here which means gaming can now be taken to bigger screens, such as your TV, this can be done wired or wireless.
